This is admittedly not the best sound system in the world, but it has LOTS of cord for the speakers, so you really can mount them any way you'd like. Two smaller speakers, two larger speakers, two cassette decks, and a three-CD tray, plus the normal AM/FM stereo features.
This was our living room sound system, and we never had any complaints about it - it was the source of most of our music, so it's not like it's a horrible machine or anything.
